Wendy Murray - singer, songwriter, dancer, instrumentalist, band manager - dedicated her life to music and has made her career in Brisbane as performing artist, composer and contemporary vocal teacher.
Soulful, heartfelt, jazz and blues and groovy cabaret from a time when the music gave itself over entirely to passion, beauty and enchantment.
Wendy has style. She performs with elegance, her voice sultry and passionate. She sings songs made popular by those fabulous divas - Billie, Sarah, Carmen, Ella, Dionne, Barbara and Nina.
Wendy is currently the lead singer and driving force behind both Latin Jazz Orchestra Hot Mambo and her Jazz ensemble The Wendy Murray Quintet who have for many years performed regularly all over Queensland and New South Wales.
Wendy is in demand as a performer and has graced the stages of major festivals and venues throughout Queensland and New South Wales including - the Energex Brisbane Festivals, Queensland Biennial Festival of Music, Woodford Folk Festival, Jazz and Blues Festival, Valley Jazz Festival, Valley Fiesta. Her long and fruitful residencies include Treasury Casino 4 years, Rydges Hotel 2years and the Scarborough Hotel 2 years and she is a regular performer at Jupiter’s Casino, Ric’s Bar, The Press Club, Maggie Black’s and the Brisbane Jazz Club.
Wendy is currently vocal specialist at Southern Cross Catholic Colleges and in her Paddington Studio.
